Pray for Unity in our Congregation – We are not experiencing any significant conflict that I am aware of, but unity is more than an absence of conflict. It is about being united in purpose and action. Pray that we will be drawn together in the Unity of the Spirit for ministry that will prove fruitful for God’s glory.
Pray for the Finance Committee – It is budget time again. The Finance Committee will begin work on November 14th. Pray that they will have discernment and direction for the needs of our ministries in 2008. Pray also that the congregation will be faithful in giving and supporting the ministries we plan.
Pray for the Sista Sleepover – This Friday night we have special event for our middle and senior high girls. Pray for the leaders of the event as they teach about the importance or purity. Pray that the Lord will protect each one of them as they are growing up in our society that presents so many challenges.

Pastor’s Prayer List…
Pray for Direction for 2008 – Pray specifically for a special meeting the cabinet is planning for January 19th. We will be strategizing for ministry in 2008. Pray that our boards and ministry leaders will be attentive to the Spirit as we start the new year. I believe God has brought us to a place where we are poised to accomplish great things as a church in the months ahead. Pray that we will all be attentive and obedient.
Middle High Sunday School Class – Please uphold the Middle High Sunday School class in special prayer in December. This class is led by Julie Swanson. She is doing good work. Lift her up in prayer, and pray for the students that they will continue to grow in their knowledge of the Lord. I appreciated the brunch they planned for the church at Thanksgiving. They are a special group of kids.
Continue praying of all our Sunday School classes and small groups. Pray that we can identify new classes to start that will be inviting to those not already involved in small group fellowship and Bible study.

John and Tomoko Armagost – I was moved by John Armagost’s testimony at the World Mission Conference I recently attended. They serve as missionaries in Japan where less that 1% of the population believes in Jesus Christ. It is a difficult field where conversions are few. Please support them in prayer. This prayer list is intended to provide our prayer teams a few specific things to pray about in addition to upholding our overall program and mission in prayer. I welcome input from any board, ministry or individual for specific requests they would like me to consider including in this list.
